Also interesting that Austrians actually see themselves as the most xenophobic ("ausländerfeindlich") with 37%, followed by the Germans and the French.

They also see the Turks as the laziest ("faul"), followed by the Italians and the Russians.

Any reason why we see the Germans as the most athletic ?

Maybe because they win many Gold medals in the Olympics or because of football ?

Even though there are many fat Germans too ... Tongue

Here's the same thing about people from Austrian states:

People from Vienna are mostly seen as xenophobic, hard to satisfy and unfriendly - but also modern.

People from my state Salzburg are mostly seen as friendly, traditional and polite/cultivated and also hard-working.

...

No surprise there. Nobody in the other 8 states really likes the Vienna people. I have often said they are snobs and arrogant. Now we have a study that actually shows it ... Smiley

If I had to answer the poll, I would rate the French as mostly folksy, patriotic and traditional.

But that's just me. I havn't met a lot of French people and the last time I met one was in 2005 (not counting you Forum Frenchies).

I don't think it will become much better.

Unless ... the FPÖ is right and the Austrians die out and the foreigners take over our country ... Wink

I'd be interested in seeing how Austrians view Americans?

I figure it would prob be most close to how they view the English and perhaps a little bit of the Germans.

I presume from the 'polite' thing that Vienna is not a popular spot for the 'drunken thug' subspecies of obnoxious British tourist. Alas, poor Prague.
