I already live about a half-hour's drive from Flint and have family who work there, but I'd have to say Bloomfield Hills.  Poisoned water or not, Flint is so poor and was rated the most violent city in the world per capita a few years ago.

Now if we were talking about Flint Township or Mt. Morris Township, that would be different.

Bloomfield Hills obviously (hey BRTD, it is quite close to that cool hip hood known as Ferndale, where you would really want to live). Would you prefer to live in Flint BRTD if you had school aged kids?
Exactly.  If they don't die from drinking poisoned water, then they'll die from gunshot wounds.  Crime in Flint is insane.

Never been to either, but, after reading this thread, Bloomfield Hills sounds really nice, and Flint is about at the bottom of my list.  Wouldn't want to live in cold Michigan, though!!
Haha...Michigan is only cold in the winter.  The summers are actually quite nice.  Take it from a native--we aren't the frozen wasteland that the rest of the country thinks we are (except for the UP, of course, which is almost like Siberia).  If anything, Michigan is infamous for very fast-changing weather.
