I don't drink that much. However, many of my friends do. A LOT. And yet, somehow, despite all this alcohol, no one seems to be raping anyone.

Maybe it's not the alcohol that's causing the raping. Maybe it's rapists who are causing the raping.

I think we can all agree somebody's doing the raping.

I shouldn't get involved, I know, but yes you can ban commercials of course. Cigarette commercials are banned. I imagine there aren't any marijuana commercials on local Colorado commercials, effective as those would be.

They are already banned from drinking the product in their commercials. A ban would probably be appropriate.

Don't go to parties with a lot of alcohol IS basically saying don't socialize. That's not a sad statement on society either. Alcohol is not illegal.

Actually, it is most likely illegal for the young woman Kasich was talking to.  She said that she's a first year college student, so is most likely under 21.

That's true (and often overlooked) but it will only be true for her for another 2-3 years at most, and I think Kasich was talking about college drinking parties in general, not just ones where people are underage, based on the context.

So, 99.9% of college parties? Got it.

You are heinously distorting what Kasich said. He was simply advising that young people, teenagers for example, do not drink underage and was stating that it is important that people make good decisions. To utilize what he said for political capital purposes is pathetic and revolting.
