Sessions will finally get a Deputy when the senate comes back next week, and what is essentially the "2nd Deputy" will follow quickly after that. Not much, but it's a start.

It should not have taken this long at all.

Well your party is the one dragging out the existing nominations. Like 7 or 8 nominations were ready to be confirmed on Jan 20, but only 2 were let through then. The Dems have delayed committee proceedings and  mounted useless filibusters throughout this process.

Really, they shouldn't be approving ANY nominees until the election is over and the people have expressed their will.

I'm not sure how Politico is getting those numbers. The senate executive calendar has 7 nominations on it right now.
