Let's not forget a dirty little secret of gun advocates. A significant source of guns used by criminals are the ones stolen from legal owners.
Granted, sometimes a gun will be used to deal with a perp when it looks like the worst is about to happen, but I think this woman who thought she was about to die until the shooter was shot would have far more happy had it never been used at all.
The point of all this is that posting anecdotes proves nothing on either side of the issue. If we used anecdotal evidence in medicine we'd still be using bloodletting to deal with illness by balancing bodily humours.
The hope of the OP of this thread was that having a single thread for shootings would serve to declutter the board, but it hasn't worked to do that and instead is used as a place to post pointless anecdotes by both pro-shooting and anti-shooting advocates. Locking.
