When is Pelosi ever going to be held accountable 2010..2012..2014..2016..2018? Why are House Dems ok with this?

Didnt you hear? The geniuses over at the DNC are hiring Rham Emanuel to coordinate the 2018 mid-terms. He's going to brush the dust off the 90s DLC playbook and bring back the Clinton days! Sure it hasn't worked in nearly 20 years but dont worry ...any day now!
I don't think putting up ultra-liberal Sandernistas will do it
Tell it Jeremy Corbyn

The Dems have been running centrist trash all my life. It dosen't work and it never will. The GOP keeps pushing further and further right and they only win more. It's time for Dems to get a ing clue and chuck Pelosi, Hoyer, Perez, Schumer, et all to the side

When Corbyn overcame the media and half of his party slandering him as a radical, and gave Labour their first glimpse at the Prime Minister's seat in years, I was excited because finally the No Labels, "America is a center-right country" hacks would finally wake up. Instead they completely ignored it.

F**k the Democratic Party forever.

America is different than Britain. Some of Corbyn's policies I agree with but I don't like far-left Marxism nor right-wing fascism.

GOP will move more to the center over time. Centrism is the key for both parties

It needs to be centrism with a vision though.

Centrism that is cold and without a vision depresses turnout.
I think it needs to be something that says "Centrism involves working together on common issues and seeking to reconcile differences.  Such a movement will allow for a more functional and positive America."

This. You can't be too extreme. You can't be too xenophobic and too open borders. There is waste in every part of the budget including the military. Not everyone who serves in the U.S. military is a fascist or a killer. Not every cop is a "pig". Not every immigrant is a "freeloader".

You need some type of centrism. Extremes don't work all the time.

A campaign on Far left politics and socialism can't be run in the US because of welfare chauvinism plus black people exist in this country.

There is welfare fraud in America that people need to admit. America is generous, but we are a nation of achievers, or we try to be. I personally don't like welfare. I believe it is for people who really need it.

Countdown until Democrats win an election!

Maybe VA and NJ, and NYC mayoral, but those are blue-leaning areas. They could win TN-GOV with Karl Dean?

It has always been the left that needs to sacrifice control and "be realistic" while the center has lost everything.

But no doubt they will double down on this terrible strategy of targeting the mythical moderate Republicans. "We only lost by a few points", they'll say, and we'll see a bunch of Jon Ossoff clones running in vulnerable Republican districts in 2018.

They exist. GA is more conservative than VA and NC.

The Democratic Party is already left-wing. You have tax-raisers and anti-military folks. C'mon.

Trump's approval ratings continue to decline, there are multiple crises which are going unaddressed because of this administration's incompetence, the Republicans are inexplicably messing with healthcare and are intent on passing a bill with <20% support nationwide and virtually no support whatsoever from any major medical organizations, important positions related to national security and emergency preparedness/responsiveness are still unfilled, Trump is already facing pressure from a gleeful Putin who's fully aware of our president's incompetence, he's facing the biggest political scandal since Watergate and is now personally under investigation, and all of that is just scratching the surface.

Yeah...

MAGA, am I right?

None of that will matter when Democrats can't win because less and less people vote.

I see you changed your avatar

I'm done being a "member" of the Democrats. I'll vote for whomever runs against Erik Paulsen in MN-03 next year, but I can't keep calling myself a "Democrat".

Glad we came to this point around the same time!

When your standards for being left wing are "wants to raise taxes" and "Thinks the US military could stand to tone it down a notch", you are DEFINITELY a centrist.

I want the U.S. military to tone it down too, but if anyone attacks America, what do you do? Sit there and take it? A stronger military is a good military. Do you want us to be a laughing stock?

Yes, taxes should be raised on the rich in some degree, but don't make people feel like they can't achieve and do well in life. You can't abolish wealth. Taxes should be raised, but don't tax people like crazy.

Does anyone think that a Sanders clone would have won either of these races? Be honest.

No.

America is just polarized. Independent voters are sort of a silent majority. However, not everyone is partisan.

By the way, I am for single-payer government healthcare. GOP should concede on health care and move on jobs and crime.

Obama should have focused on jobs and growth in his first term, this healthcare would not have decimated Democrats in 2010 and 2014.

I don't know if single-payer would have helped in 2010 either, the GOP would have turned out then as well.

I liked Ossoff, he had core beliefs like how everyone had core beliefs.

I'm a centrist and I have core beliefs like everyone else. I'm liberal on some issues, conservative on some. NO party should have a lock on the nation.

Handel could still face a challenge in 2018.

Do I think a socialist could have won this seat? No. But maybe the DCCC shouldn't go after white flight suburbans who are the CORE of the Republican Party, and backed Mitt Romney enthusiastically.

Run everywhere. Make elections competitive. Would you rather have a uncontested apathetic district?

And would you all suggest that out of the tens of millions of people that voted for Democrats in 2016, the most loyal ones are not in large part "idiots"?

Yes, some hard core Democrats mindlessly regurgitate what the Democratic Party leaders say as well, but I don't see how anybody can dispute the material difference between the Republican base and the Democratic base in terms of their willingness to believe and regurgitate absolute nonsense, such as I pointed above.

1.The hard core idiot Republican base is about 35% of total voters.  These are the people who continue to support President Trump.  I don't think the idiots on the Democratic side is anywhere near that large.

2.The Republican Party has an infrastructure of non elected dissemblers at Fox 'News' on talk radio (not just Rush Limbaugh and other national high profile radio show hosts, but in every state there are local versions, like Lars Larson in Oregon and Washington state), newspapers like the Washington Times, the Washington Examiner and the New York Post, and internet sites like World Net Daily and Breitbart.    I know of no such equivalence on the Democratic Party side.

The idiot Republican base here and elsewhere would say "New York Times, Washington Post, CNN, Rachel Maddow..." what have you, but while these outlets obviously make mistakes from time to time I think there is no question that these outlets have a standard of basic intellectual honesty (not that every opinion journalists at those newspapers or guests on CNN do) that Rush Limbaugh et al do not have.

Unless you can show to me an equivalent cast of high profile dissemblers on the left who the idiot Democratic base mindlessly regurgitates, I think it's fair for me to say that your comment is based on nothing more than the mindlessly lazy thinking of 'both sides do it/both sides are equally bad."

The best I think you could probably come up with are 'The Young Turks' but then, as we saw in the election, unlike the base idiot Republican dissemblers of whom some were Never Trumpers until he won their party's nomination, The Young Turks hardly ever embraced Hillary Clinton.

AM Joy (which is a pretty good show sometimes), Bill Maher, etc. are the equivalents.
