Who do YOU think Sanders would have chosen to be his VP? What would his short list have looked like?

I think he picks Ivy Taylor, Anthony Foxx, Linda Sanchez, or Henry Cuellar as his running mate. Maybe Kasim Reed or Anthony Gillum.

There would have been a lot of pressure to pick a woman. Nina Turner.

I could see him picking Tulsi Gabbard.

I don't know where I read this, but Karen Bass was allegedly the favourite.

I think Gabbard would have been the logical choice.

Yes, it has. Anyway, I'll stick to my given answer:

Elizabeth Warren. Definitely. Without any doubt.

Hmm. He would probably need someone who isn't a white guy, who can assuage centrists/ party loyalists without coming across as a sellout choice and who isn't also from New England. The Jewish Sanders probably also needs a Christian with a respectable family.

Castro seems like a potential establishment choice with ties to the Obama administration and limited enemies on the left. The same with Anthony Foxx.

Klobuchar was similarly positioned, although there was still the chatter she was abusive to her staff.

Sanders and Klobuchar definitely don't fit together. I've previously said Gabbard and Warren already.

Ro Khanna, Keith Ellison and Ayanna Pressley are also options. Jeff Merkley, Stacey Abrams as well. I think Pete Buttigieg, Julian Castro and Andrew Yang would work as well.

A young female, preferably of color, with establishment appeal.

Tammy Duckworth, Kamala Harris, and CCM are some obvious choices.

They were all running for first terms in the Senate in 2016, best picks would probably be Gillibrand or Klobuchar.

A Jewish socialist and a liberal lesbian on the same ticket?! The deplorables will be foaming at their mouths! (I do agree though that Tammy Baldwin would be a bold choice.)

I think he would have gone the Bill Clinton-Al Gore route and chosen Mike Gravel.

I agree. But he would have done Warren
