Eh, maybe. That's still a big maybe. 

Get Christie over 50% with this kind of lead and I'll say it's a toss up.

By the way, the Dems better hope they hold onto this one or November 2009 will bring some serious Republican spin.

That does make it a little more credible, but I remain quite sceptical.

Yes, Corzine is finished. It will become more evident in the coming months.

Yeah, but it's Jersey.  Fortunately for Christie, Corzine's budget is insane.  But Corzine has plenty of money to spend for his campaign.  And it's still Jersey.  The state has a history of teasing Republican statewide office seekers.   

It's looking good for Christie, but I'll believe it when I see it.

NJ usually gets annoyed with Dem governors, but it is not over the top angry.

There are many furious Democratic voters out there. Will it ultimately translate into anything? I don't know.

The "rich" suburban people don't want to re-elect him.

This race should be simple for the Republicans, so long as Corzine stays in the race.

First, they need to highlight Corzine's links to Wall Street where ever and when ever they can.  It's gone from an asset to absolutely toxic.

Second, Christie needs to define himself as soon as possible. It's as simple as putting out a simple bio: people don't know yet that he's a corruption-busting prosecutor.  Those who do know who Christie is are far more likely to vote for him over Corzine.

Third, Republicans need to make sure they have a solid fiscal plan, even if its just bare bones ideas.  I can't emphasize how important that is—they CAN lose, but only if their economic plan is viewed as worse than Corzine's.

     If Christie doubles this current lead (& undecideds don't increase more than a few percent), than I would be comfortable in saying he has an advantage.

One problem with highlighting Corzine's links to Wall Street are that they're fairly old.  He's been a politician for over 8 years - not on Wall Street.  It's hard to make a case that he's responsible for the current "mess".
