Because he ended the most colossal and destructive war of human history and helped place America as the Superpower it now is.

McKinley made us a super power not Truman.

Tell me. Why are so many Republicans fans of this far-left socialist who wanted to extend the New Deal?

Not wanting to establish a flat tax makes you socialist? You need Ritalin and time off the computer.

Wanting to extend the New Deal and establish universal health care makes you a socialist.

You need a brain and some manners.

Maybe he did other things.

Maybe not

Yeah, I like him and everything, but he doesn't deserve to win, and by protecting him in the next round, that's what we're pretty much asking for, unless someone like Washington or Lincoln ends up the victor.

I was hemming and hawing between Jefferson and Truman for my second pick--Truman seemed the more vulnerable of the two, so I picked him.

His domestic policy wasn't so hot, but he had a Republican Congress to oppose some of the time...and when he didn't, he had Southern Democrats--so very little of it got through.  The differences between a Dewey and Truman administration in domestic policy probably wouldn't have been that large.

However, he is simply the best foreign policy President we've ever had.  Well, we lost China, but that's Marshall's fault, not Truman's.

Re-elect Truman in '08!  (He's still eligible!)

Alright everyone.

The magic number is 24.

Congratulations to George W. Bush, he hit this one dead on the nose and is the winner of the final immunity challenge of Presidential Survivor.

George W. Bush has selected Dwight Eisenhower as his first choice for immunity.   And since it looks like Ike will survive this round, he will have immunity in Round 37.
