What a horrendously incompetent campaign Hillary is running. Normally you would say that with incompetence like this, she should fire her entire campaign staff. But in her case, the problem starts at the top. She has never run a competent campaign, and shows no sign of starting now. She blew it against Obama, very nearly blew it against Bernie, and now is verging way too close for comfort to the edge of blowing it against Trump, which should be impossible.

Is the picture even meant to be a Venn Diagram?

We all got what Trump meant when he used footage of the Moroccan border in his advertisement, so who cares?

It's not really something that affects my opinion of Clinton or her campaign, but it is a hilariously bad diagram.

I think the way to make it accurate would be to have three circles: people who support universal background checks, gun owners, and Americans. There are American gun owners who don't support universal background checks, there are Americans who support universal background checks but don't own guns, and there are non-American gun owners who support universal background checks. But that isn't really the point Clinton is trying to make.

There are much worse examples of innumeracy than this said virtually every day on the campaign trail. Innumerate statements that actually may have consequences or that are intentionally innumerate in order to lie.

To not comment on those but to comment on the incorrect use of some stupid circles I think says more about the lack of intelligence of the original poster than anything about the Hillary Clinton campaign.

I think you're taking it a bit too seriously. No one thinks it's a legitimate reason to not vote for Clinton. It's just an amusing design flaw.

Only on Atlas would someone get this enraged over something so irrelevant.

I think German Lopez was serious in her criticism.

Agreed. This is minor by itself, but its an indicator of a persistent problem.

This Venn diagram is technically possible, but it's definitely not correct.

The Venn diagram says 90% of Americans don't support background checks, the remaining 10% all own guns (not technically implied, but let's assume that to simplify), and 83% of gun owners don't support background checks. That'd mean 10% of Americans = 17% of gun owners, or 59% of Americans own guns.

Only on Atlas would someone get this enraged over something so irrelevant.

Having a candidate so incompetent that she could actually possibly lose to a legitimate fascist like Trump is anything but "irrelevant." If the fate of America and the world is irrelevant to you, then you don't understand the gravity of this election.

True, it is not the Venn diagram that is going to do it. But like Runeghost points out, it is just another in a seemingly never ending string of examples. If this sort of thing keeps getting screwed up now, what is going to get screwed up in November when it counts? What will be the October miners surprise?
