I just watched a few minutes of the NJ senate debate and I had to turn it off because of how much Menendez disgusts me. He is a bastard, the epitome of a slimely politician which of course makes him a better debater than Kean. It's a shame New Jersey is going to elect such trash but perhaps it's what they deserve.

The moderators were also all terrible.

Whoa, whoa, when was this? C-SPAN had the Montana Senate debate (I recorded that) but nothing about NJ. I remember something being mentioned about an NJN debate soon. I guess that was this one. Oh well, I hope they re-air it.

I can't stand Menendez either.  He is one of those inner-city type Democrats who are a picture of corruption; he himself is a product of the Newark-Jersey City/Hudson County political machine.  At this point I just view it as another Democratic seat in Congress since I honestly believe that New Jerseyans deserve better and that the New Jersey State Democratic Party could have done MUCH better.  I really wish Corzine had appointed Rob Andrews to the Senate seat; he at least is a pretty decent guy.

Menendez is a political animal.....the Republicans are used to Democrats being wusses who won't fight back and Menendez is just the opposite. He goes on the attack and has no fear.

We need more like him to fight the Republican smear machine.

DeLay was a fighter but I didn't center my views on him around that. I have admitted that he is scummy and you should do the same, whether or not you think Menendez is a "political animal."

Im not sure if Id classify Menendez as a political animal, but I really havent followed his political career.  However, I do agree we need more attack dogs.  Im happy to hear he smacked Kean around a little bit.

Watching now...

Maybe its just nerves, but Kean is god-awful.  He can barely get a sentence out without stuttering.  Its also quite obvious that he has no grasp of national issues.

I doubt many people are watching, but after seeing 20 minutes of this deabte, I am much more confident in Menendez.

I noticed that.  I also have to admit Joe Biden used to have a stuttering problem at one time, but he fixed it.

Hmm, Kean isn't as good of a speaker, but I think he has more guts.  Menendez is wishy washy.  At least when Kean makes a statement, it's bold.

From what I understand, neither candidate is particularly impressive, but Menendez will win.

Someone should capture that and post it on FreeRepublic. The response will be hilarious.

I'm very impressed with Kean's response on the 9/11 commission question.

Yep, C-SPAN thinks Tom Kean is a Democrat.

By the way, I agree that Kean is a HORRIBLE speaker. He can barely finish a sentence without stuttering or stammering. He seems very nervous and unsure of himself. Menendez is not that great either, but he's head and shoulders above Kean.

This debate sucks. It's way too unstructured and the questions so far have all sucked.

Are all of the moderators democrats?  Maybe its just me, but it seems as if they are ganging up on Kean.

Yeah.  That one guy from NBC always attacks Kean by going back to his speeches, but nothing about Menendez.

Kean better hope nobody watched this except for people like us.  But if anyone did, it's clear that Kean is to be the next victim of The Machine.

Yes or NO.  Neither of them can answer briefly without giving bloated garbage.

Kean is in way over his head. He seems extremely imcompetent based on this debate.

It's no secret that he's a lightweight. The funny thing is, when his daddy was governor, he endorsed Menendez.

Kean totally dodged the minimum wage question. His new nickname should be "Marblemouth", because you can barely understand a word he says.
