Of course not. CRUZ getting himself nominated would be hilariously seedy and make for excellent television.
He has earned 37 percent of the Republican votes. So, no. The people have spoken in the primary and say they want a Trump alternative.
And because of that, I won't be sad if they screw Trump.
The issue with this line of argument--which is very much technically correct--is that there's no such specific person as A Trump Alternative. All specific people who could be placed into that role have either garnered even less support than Trump or didn't run at all.
It's the same issue as with Generic Republican beating Obama in the polls in 2012.
