BTW, what's so bad with 1916 ? It was a close, hardly fought election which had dramatic consequences for the world.

Nothing's particularly bad about any of the remaining elections. The decision is becoming quite difficult.

1796 and 1884 were not that great.

Well, 1796 was the first "real" contested election, while 1884 was the meanest election ever and the first Democratic victory post Civil War.

As I said, the decisions are getting pretty difficult. I'll probably vote 1884 next.

I'm still trying to decide between 1980, 1884, 2008 and 1800 Tongue

Eliminate 1992 (This or 1968 is the least important remaining.)

Save 1912

I agree with Vazdul, now it's difficult.

But 1976 is a good candidate to go Wink

1916 : -5
1796 : -1
1980 : 1
1992 : 1
1912 : 1
1948 : 3

1916 is out

Round 43 begins. Now you have 10 votes, that you can split as you want (but you can't cumulate more than 6 votes on a single election).

The one with the least votes is out, right?

No, the one with the most votes is out. It's like the TV show "Survivor" (hence the name), where we vote to eliminate one person/year/party/whatever each round.

Yeah, I count Obamanation's second vote (who, weirdly enough, cast only 9...).

1800 : 24
1980 : 15
1976 : 12
1796 : 12
1992 : 9
2008 : 8
1884 : 4
1948 : 4
1912 : 1

1800 is out

1796 should have gone before, but I can't complain...

Well, now we are enterirng in a radically new cycle, and we'll have funny and original votes in order to determinate how the final top 5 will be composed !

First of all, two elections will be qualified using a special system.
- One is qulified right now, as the only election which has neve received any vote : it's the 1860 election (I initially planned to organize a round for qualification between the election which didn't receive any vote previously I figured there was only one Tongue).
- The second will be determined right now, with a special round ! For this round, you have to rank five elections, the five you most want to be qualified among the remaining 13, beginning with the one you most want to be qualified. The system used will be approval voting (that means counting one vote for each election), but in case of tie I will use IRV (your vote is cast only to the highest ranking election, and if this election is eliminated it will go to your second ranking, then to your third etc...) instead.

Then you'll see what happens for remaining 12... Wink
Let's go !

1860 is already included in the top 5. Are we to list the other 4 elections that we want in the top 5, or the top 5 excluding 1860?
