Obviously Ben Cardin is going to win a second term without much difficulty, but I read somewhere earlier this morning (here's a link now:
http://www.nbcwashington.com/blogs/first-read-dmv/Independent-Candidate-for-Senate-Gaining-Ground-in-Maryland-171882501.html ), that suggested there is a very serious contest going on for second place between Republican candidate Dan Bongino and independent Rob Sobhani (who previously lost Republican Senate primaries in '92 and '00). Does Sobhani have a shot at coming second?
