Yes, it's not only the humane thing to do, but prevents any potentional further spread of HIV/AIDS around the world, which government healthcare budgets will have to address, not to mention the social and economic costs.



This is one of those "spend a little today, save a lot tomorrow" things from a budgetary standpoint.

I have to disagree because I'm not convinced that it should be our responsibility or that we should shoulder it. I realize no one buys that argument, but it resonates with me. I'm also not convinced that it would do much good, but then again, foreign aid is not something I'm a big fan of and is probably one area where I tend to disagree with people ideologically similar to me.

... and how effective that is. Tbh I'd be more inclined to support investments in scientific research on curing diseases, though both could be possible, of course. I voted "disagree" because this seems like one of these things one cannot be against, yet there are probably good reasons for the current amount of aid we give to these countries.
