You get one vote for each thing being polled.

Anyway I would've answered "Favorable" for both on Q1 and "Unfavorable" for both on Q2, which I see as the only sane set of answers frankly.

Yep, and this should be the only acceptable answer for sensible people.

Unfavorable to both governments. Refuse to answer about people (it's pretty f**king weird to have a blanket opinion of an entire nationality).

While I agree with this, I now want to see Americans polled on whether they have a favourable view of all sorts of other nationalities because it would be sociologically fascinating.

There is only right answer here

The people: favourable

The governments: awful.

But it's not as easy as simply: "both sides bad", and the Israeli people could do more to stop this conflict.

Well, i think we all can agree that at least the Israel government in theory has more of a democratic tradition than Palestine, which even never was accepted as a state in existence in the first place.

Secondly, i think most Palestinian people are busier seeking refuge and protecting their lives from what is essentially a much bigger killer: Israeli bomb, instead of hiding from the Hamas government.

So i disagree with that.

Israeli people are in a much better position to respond and end this conflict, and no Israeli people at the moment has their life being endangered by bombs etc. . And yes, we see some action (some protests) but not enough to actually change it.

Your view here is not really grounded in reality, because it's much more safer in Israel at the moment than in Gaza. Just compare pictures of Gaza City and Rafah with Tel Aviv today.

Looks like the only really huge difference here is support for the Israeli government. Although 14% support for Hamas is alarming, like if there was 14% support for the KKK.

Why is support for the Israeli people lower across the board than for Palestinians? They're not the ones who essentially have block parties and parade dead bodies around in the street. Expressing "support" or not for an entire people group is kind of a non starter as a question for me, but it seems like the Palestinian civilian population has inarguably behaved worse throughout this whole thing even if you want to debate Israeli gov vs Hamas.

no no no, you don't understand.  Paternalistic western progressives don't believe Palestinians have any agency at all in their existence.  They can't be blamed, they can't expect to fix the people in charge, they can't expect them to resist their occupiers in any way (unless those occupiers are not Hamas, then they can suddenly resist like hell...weird eh?).  They are only one thing, perpetual victims in a European colonial project.

What if I told you the median Palestinian person has an opinion of homosexuality that would make DeSantis look very progressive? And that this view is reflective of the Palestinian nation’s view?

Would you still have a positive opinion of Palestinian people?

Most Israeli people support the IDF’s action in Gaza. In many minds, that means they support genocide. Does it make sense to have a positive opinion of a pro-genocidal people?
