Who else is getting fed up with this mindless garbage?

The government is going to be shut down come October 1, and the Tea Party types are out there slapping each other on the backs for it and saying, "Good job!"

Why do people tolerate this?

The reason why we will continue to hear talks of a government shut-down for years to come:

The voters are at fault. Everybody knows this is how the GOP plays ball. If they don't like something, they use the threat of shutdowns as leverage. Something to keep in mind for 2012.

yo, Harry from NV is the one who has this week been threatening shutdowns...during the debt talks, the Dems avoided a shutdown because they didnt want the economy to go into recession....but now that it is pretty clear we're going to double dip, the Dems know they're screwed and will attempt a shutdown in order to blame the GOP.  but the Speaker knows this

I tend to agree. It was pretty stupid of them to give Republicans a majority in the House in 2010 thinking they were the same party they've been for the last few decades.

Trying to make people sick of government shutdowns and political shenanigans is exactly the plan.

First of all, we are not in the confines of the Constitution. Something has to give, and it will give.

Second, blame Congress (and your votes to put them into power) for their continued Unconstitutional bullspit and spending. Not me.

Then elect politicians in both parties with the balls to actually pay for what they spend with either tax increase or spending cuts. As long as people in one, or both refuse to do that, the only way to control the gov't finances is through such brinksmanship.

Yes it is no way to run a gov't, but the alternative is the eventual bankrucpty of the US in a few decades. It needs to be gotten under control now, to avoid a more drastic day of reckoning which our political system clearly couldn't handle at all.

And of course, jmfcst immediately jumps in to blame the Democrats for not passing the POS Speaker Orange calls a stopgap bill.
He blames the Democrats for not wanting to send the economy to hell in a handbasket.

At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if this idiot blamed President Obama and/or Congressional Democrats for the Fukushima quake, Hurricane Irene, and other natural disasters.

Amusing how an offsetting of a minute fraction of spending will 'send the economy to hell in a handbasket'.

But as usual, you people are all talk. The Senate has not passed any bill.
