Yes, he lost it by a hair though (something like 1%).  I know Carter carried the district handily in 1980...

Nope, it actually swung towards McCain.

Interesting, considering the heavy black population there.

New York

The NYC CD's may not be entirely correct, it was really hard to find their corresponding labels.  But it's pretty accurate.

Wow... Clinton did pretty bad in the Upstate compared to Obama, really surprising. Though it's true that generally speaking NY was far less dem in 1992 than it is today.

The Upstate looks accurate.
19 - Fishy
20 - Gils
21 - McNulty
22 - Solomon
23 - Boehlert
24 - McHugh
25 - Walsh
26 - Hincheymander
27 - Paxon
28 - Slaughter
29 - LeFalce
30 - Quinn
31 - Houghton

Could you provide a close up of LI and NYC?

I'll see if I can get you anything, but I had a pretty hard time even getting any of the NYC districts. It might take a while.  Sorry Sad

Yes, however I had to get the CD boundaries from the Atlas, and they didn't have a detailed map of NYC.  Sad  sad face

Apparently McHugh's district was the most Dem-friendly even back then.

Key word being massive. Redistricting clouds the issue (as does the fact that Obama won NY by a bigger margin than Bubba 92), but the general pattern wasn't so different; apart from the far east of Upstate.
