He does have a contingency plan if he does lose ... He's going to become the new Lutfur Rahman.

That's a pretty poor result for UKIP in Yarmouth. I think Farage's comment tieing himself with the Tories was very damaging. Anecdotally, it definitely turned various members of my family who were leaning UKIP back to Labour.

I am so glad to see Cameron losing. He has been an example that liberals and moderates in the US say that the GOP should become. Wishy Washy and stand for nothing that elites dont want. UKIP all the way.

I actually agree with most of that...

They tried being a populist right party during the New Labour years, it didn't work then. Quite frankly, the Tory party has to be 'modernised' (which =/= made more moderate) further, but I doubt Cameron is capable really.

I personal loathe UKIP, but I really find that article bad taste; "Look look this horrible excuse for a human being support UKIP, isn't UKIP terrible".

The Metro is an Associated Newspapers rag, and Viscount Rothermere wants the Tories to win.

No, he will be eaten alive.  His heart doesn't seem in it for more, he'd probably be best to get a plum position in the House of Lords quickly before Miliband and Sturgeon set fire to it

I think May is a more likely leader than My Dear Mayor myself.

Polling Northern Ireland is an exercise in futility.

Haha, I knew who that would be about just from your description.

Also is it me, or has Murphy rapidly aged in the job? He is now sporting a full salt and pepper look.

Tender, the BNP are running in less seats than the obligatory 'legalise weed 420' party. they probably won't get even close to their previous result.

Sources report the infant's first words were "I am terrible news for Ed Miliband".

If the UK had elections like Atlasia, with rank order voting by constituency, who do you think would have the better chance of winning? It seems as if it might be as close as the present state of affairs. Is there any chat about doing it that way, rather than the proportional system? The present system seem to reward the informed (the clever tactical voters), and punish the ignorant (who just throw their vote away).

Is Boris Johnson really to the right of Cameron politically, or viewed as such? He seems an odd vehicle to me for a right wing cleansing of Tory wets from influence in the wake of a defeat.

I've seen him compared to Heseltine, politically and personality-wise. Although in fairness it might just be the hair.

It's weird that ISideWith apparently believe that the Liberals are closer to Labour and the Greenies than their allies...

The Sun is completely out of ideas at this point, apparently.

I misread that and thought the Sun had turned into PETA.

Yes, Desmond gave the whole front page to an editorial literally written by Farage. It managed to be even more inane than the average Express front page (IS THE EU CAUSING BAD WEATHER AND ARTHRITIS?)

Hmm, to watch Channel 4's Paxman/Mitchell coverage or stick with the classic Beeb coverage? Decisions, decisions.

Did anybody post about yet another UKIP candidate being kicked, this time for threatening to shoot a Tory opponent?

It's a shame The Porno Baron sold Channel Five. It might have been worth seeing how tacky that channel trying to cover an election while endorsing UKIP would have been.
