I'll give a little bit of background on each.

DAD'S DAD (1933-Present)
His parents (my great grandparents) were born in the US just a few years after their families immigrated here from Germany.  Both of his parents were Lutheran.  They raised my grandpa in Peoria, IL in a fairly upper-middle class family; my grandpa's dad owned several small businesses.

He actually told me over Christmas that he has never voted for a Democrat in a single Presidential election (1956-2012), and neither did his dad; his dad called FDR "The Great Destroyer," LOL.  He is a very moderate Republican for his age and was pretty active in the Civil Rights Movement.  I think he has a lot of issues with the modern GOP, but he has never stopped viewing Democrats as the party of Robin Hood, so to speak.

DAD'S MOM (1943-Present)
Her parents (my great grandparents were also born in the US just a few years after their families immigrated here from Germany and England, respectively.  She was also raised in Peoria, IL.  Her dad was the son of a farmer but never really took to it; I am not sure what he did.  Her mom did not work.  She was also raised Lutheran.

I don't think she's very political, but I would be surprised if she's ever voted Democrat, too (1964-2012).

MOM'S DAD (1938-2012)
Both of his grandparents were Swedish immigrants, so their family was 100% Swedish Lutheran.  He was raised in Kewanee, IL.  He held several blue collar jobs while my mom was growing up, including being a milkman, until he eventually bought into the local Dairy Queen.

He was not very political - or at least not very partisan - and was the classic swing voter.  I'd guess his voting went like this:

1960 - JFK
1964 - LBJ
1968 - Humphrey
1972 - Nixon
1976 - Carter
1980 - Reagan
1984 - Reagan
1988 - Bush
1992 - Clinton
1996 - Clinton
2000 - Bush
2004 - Bush
2008 - McCain (He always liked McCain)

MOM'S MOM (1944-Present)
One of her parents was 100% German Luthern and the other was a mix of Eastern European/something random, and they were Catholic.  The Catholicism won out, and I think due to her strict upbringing and going to Catholic schools, she's become less religious and more spiritual over the years.  She's fairly culturally conservative ("My ancestors waited in line to get to this country and were denied several times, why should we let immigrants cut in line now?"), but she's very fiscally populist and describes herself as a Democrat until the day she dies.  She still sees them as the party that looks out for the little guy, though she has been rather disenchanted by the string of tickets involving Kerry, Obama and Obama; she sees them as elitist and condescending toward people like her.  I'd guess her voting went like this:

1968 - Humphrey
1972 - McGovern
1976 - Carter
1980 - Carter
1984 - Mondale
1988 - Dukakis
1992 - Clinton
1996 - Clinton
2000 - Gore
2004 - Kerry
2008 - McCain (not a racist vote but I think definitely a xenophobic vote, as she probably does believe that he's not American, LOL)
2012 - Abstained (she hated Romney)

I answered this vaguely before, but here are my actual guesses:

MATERNAL GRANDPARENTS
Grandpa Gustafson: 100% Swedish, grew up Lutheran but was always more spiritual and let my grandma raise my mom and her siblings loosely Catholic.  Owned a Dairy Queen and worked as a milkman on the side.  Your typical swing voter who voted on whom he thought he could trust (didn't have strong political stances).
Grandma (Sterdavent): Mix of English, German, Dutch and SOMETHING Eastern European, LOL.  Grew up in a strict Catholic family (went to Catholic school) and was adamant about NOT raising her kids like that.  Came from a poor family and was a pretty partisan Democrat.

GRANDPA
1956 - Eisenhower
1956 - Eisenhower
1960 - Kennedy
1964 - Johnson
1968 - Humphrey
1972 - Nixon
1976 - Carter
1980 - Reagan
1984 - Reagan
1988 - Bush
1992 - Clinton
1996 - Clinton
2000 - Bush
2004 - Kerry
2008 - Obama

Died in April 2012.  I remember him saying 2008 was his least enthusiastic vote, as he thought both candidates came off as out-of-touch to a small town guy like him.

GRANDMA
1960 - Kennedy
1964 - Johnson
1968 - Humphrey
1972 - McGovern
1976 - Carter
1980 - Carter
1984 - Mondale
1988 - Dukakis
1992 - Clinton
1996 - Clinton
2000 - Gore
2004 - Kerry
2008 - McCain
2012 - Did Not Vote
2016 - Says she'll support Hillary but likely no other Democrat she's heard from so far ... I could see Sanders winning her over, honestly.

PATERNAL GRANDPARENTS
Grandpa Heinrich: 100% German, raised Lutheran.  He was a small business owner just like his father, and both were 100% hackish, pro-civil rights Republicans.  He still worships Lincoln, and his father called FDR the "Great Destroyer," LOL.
Grandma (Diltz): 50% German, 50% English/Irish, raised Lutheran.  Not political at all and likely voted pretty generically Republican with a few exceptions.

GRANDPA
1948 - Dewey
1952 - Eisenower
1956 - Eisenhower
1960 - Nixon
1964 - Did Not Vote
1968 - Nixon
1972 - Nixon
1976 - Ford
1980 - Reagan
1984 - Reagan
1988 - Bush
1992 - Bush
1996 - Dole
2000 - Bush
2004 - Bush
2008 - McCain
2012 - Romney
2016 - Says he remembers Kasich and wants him to be President, doesn't know enough about the others.

GRANDMA
1960 - Nixon
1964 - Johnson
1968 - Nixon
1972 - Nixon
1976 - Ford
1980 - Reagan
1984 - Reagan
1988 - Bush
1992 - Bush
1996 - Dole
2000 - Bush
2004 - Bush
2008 - McCain
2012 - Romney
2016 - I don't think she's even thought about it, but I'm positive she'll be voting in the GOP primary, probably for the least "Southern sounding" candidate.
