By the secession of Texas, Texas has no alternative but to regain her independence.

For these and other reasons, solemnly asserting that the federal constitution has been violated and virtually abrogated by the several States named, seeing that the federal government is now passing under the control of our enemies to be diverted from the exalted objects of its creation to those of oppression and wrong, and realizing that our own State can no longer look for protection, but to God and her own sons - We the delegates of the people of Texas, in Convention assembled, have passed an ordinance dissolving all political connection with the government of the Imperial Domain of hte South and the people thereof and confidently appeal to the intelligence and patriotism of the freeman of Texas to ratify the same at the ballot box, on the 23rd day of the present month.

Adopted in Convention on the 5th day of December, in the year of our Lord two thousand and twelve.

Note that this is an illegal act, per the first Amendment to the Consolidated Criminal Justice Act, and is a crime which has no maximum penalty.

While he I'm not sure if he's attempting to secede from Atlasia or just the IDS, he's definitely taking "actions... denying the supremacy of Federal law" because he's doing this with disregard for Article IV, Section 2 of the Atlasian Constitution, which states in part:

So, he's obviously doing a blatantly unconstitutional act and thus committing an Act of Treason. The problem is, the law says the Attorney General tries the case but we don't have one of those right now. Does the law allow the President to appoint a special prosecutor or something?

Heh. At the very least, I'll start a recall petition.

He hasn't broken any federal law.  He wants to stay in Atlasia.  I guess you could make an argument that since he wants to secede from the IDS to a region not recognized by Atlasia, he's trying to secede from Atlasia, but that's a stretch.

He's committing treason by refuting the supremacy of Federal law and ignoring the Constitution. Look at what I quoted Smiley

I've said I'll abide by whatever the senate decides since it's the decision of the senate per the constitution. Ergo, I'm not denying 'federal supremacy'.

It's not the decision of the Senate. It's the decision of the Senate and the IDS, per the Constitution.
