What would a map look like of me vs. a Republican who was a pretty standard conservative, only he was Muslim?

Normally, I don't think a muslim could win.  But against BRTD, a moderate muslim who didn't emphasize his religion probably would win.

so who would you vote for?

If I thought the muslim was at all acceptable, I would vote for him.  Otherwise, I'd plan to leave the country. Smiley

Then thanks for confirming it, you're a Muslim lover. You have no right to say liberals are pro-Islam you hypocrite. Now go pray toward Mecca and scream "Allah Akbar!" along with Bush.

What does it matter if he’s Muslim or not?  If a candidate was about the same as you, but he was Muslim, against George Bush, who would you vote for?

The only "Muslim" who could be the same as me would have to be a 100% MINO.

The only reason I'm attacking dazzleman on this is his hypocrisy though. He keeps saying leftists love Islam.

And you're a dumbass and a mindless bigot. What the hell is wrong with you? Did some good-looking Muslim kid in high school have a bigger penis than you? Did some hot Muslim girl turn you down? You act as though having any shred of respect for Islam is "hypocrisy" and therefore bad. There's a big difference between condoning Islam in general and condoning the extremists, though I'm sure that your tiny brain can't comprehend that. Why don't you just grow up already and stop acting like a whiny little bigoted prude, particularly when you made this poll purely as an ego trip?

I probably wouldn't be like this if it was for StatesRights and dazzleman claiming that leftists are Islam friendly.

StatesRights appears to actually be sincere in his opposition to Islam, but dazzleman has proven himself to just be a giant hypocrite.

Is this candidate a terrorist?  It’s just a religion; it doesn’t have to affect the way you act or your politics.

I guess that you and dazzelman have some sort of Islam-loving argument going, but your comment, IMO, was ridiculous.  Did you think he was going to vote for you over a candidate that probably agrees with him on 70%+ of the issues?

StatesRights voted for me.

Really, I can’t understand why you hate the Muslim religion so much; it’s not as if they are all terrorists.

No, but many more tend to be rather sexist, homophobic and anti-Christian. But being told that as I am leftist, I therefore support Islam, really didn't improve my opinion on it, which was at the time somewhat dim.

But not all of them.  If this candidate is, you’re gonna have to tell us that, or we’ll just assume he’s a normal guy.

Like I said, he's basically just a standard conservative. Although you mentioned like Santorum, in which case he would be those things.

I’ve never met a Muslim in RL, but I’m sure that the actual majority of them are normal people.

I have. Quite a few actually. I've had beers with them, and gone to strip clubs with them. Of course, those that I mention were the 100% MINO types I said a Muslim would have to be to be like me (and yes, I would vote for such a person over Bush)

However I have seen much more negative aspects from others, such as as I mentioned before Somali gangs vandalizing Christian churches for seemingly no reason at all aside from being a different religion. Even I don't vandalize mosques.

Christianity has some wackos, but only opebo would lump us all together.  Condemn those who are extremist, not the whole religion.

Couldn't the same thing be said about communists? Do you condemn all communists or just ones like Stalin, Mao, etc? Most conservatives don't make a differentiation.

The thing is, the extremists seem to be in power everywhere. Like I've siad many times, if Utah was an independent country, it'd be more liberal than just about any Muslim country.

Pretty much the only Muslim country that can be comparable to any Western country in such terms is Turkey, and even in that case it's only because of the reforms of Ataturk. And Turkey still arrests journalists for writing about the genocide of Christian Armenians. In supposedly "moderate" Indonesia, the Miss Universe contestant this year was the first ever since beauty pagants have actually be banned there for a long time, and she still received death threats, despite the fact she only wore a one-piece swimsuite for that competition, not a bikini.

Funny, you criticize them by saying they are “homophobic,” yet your obviously islamphobic, is there really that much of a difference?  Being prejudice is being prejudice, no matter what group it’s against.

No it's not. I hate Nazis. Does that make me a "Naziphobe" and prejudiced against them?

Why?

You know, there's a church down the hill from me that does gay marriages.
