Regardless of which candidate or party wins, is he or she receiving more than 50% of the votes in the general election? Which contenders have the best chances to exceed the magic number?

There is about a 50% that the answer is no. My guess is no. I predict a close election and a small % for all other options (writeins, 3rd parties, and NOTC in NV etc) The total combined for Dem&Rep will be about 97%

There is the possibility that a candidate could win more than 50% and lose the e college.
This has only happened once, 1876 and Hayes didn't actually win the e college, it was
decided by a committee, although technically he did win it.

edit: also there could be a tie where Congress picks the popular vote losers (POTUS&VP)
