The classy way to go is to just disappear, and then reappear like an veritable apparition of Jesus now and then, or for the more secularly and cosmically inclined, like a comet returning after its long orbit, causing those left on the ground to rotate their necks up so as to gaze and savor it all.  You know just whom I'm talking about.
