Sure, I absolutely hate facing Mariano Rivera when my boys are facing the Yankees, but off the field, he's arguably the classiest player of all-time, and I'm sad to see him retire. Perhaps someone who was a leader of the civil rights movement understands the actual history of the civil rights movement better than some 19 year old kid reading things on the internet.

Believe me, I've read plenty of history in textbooks (even left-wing ones), and I think I have a pretty good grasp of the history of the civil rights movement.

But, as you see, I find nothing WRONG with being a whore.  So for me, the word has no negative connotation whatsoever and I'm only using it because it fits my inflammatory writing style.

HockeyDude's brash terminology has nothing to do with his broader point about regulating the prostitution industry. Besides, I was not referring to 20RP12's personal objection to his wording, but rather the initial interpretation and reduction of HockeyDude/legalizers' posts as sexist, and thus appropriate to dismiss and roll eyes at instead of actually discussing.

Ignoring "terminology" as inconsequential is ignoring a significant form of discrimination. It's great that you think that prostitutes should be legally protected, but it's also bad that you're using a slur to describe them at the same time.

I don't see how this is absurd, ignorant or bad. Before I understood that Hockeydude wasn't using the word negatively, I was just saying it's wrong to call someone a "whore" for freely having sex as they please. It's not a bad thing to have sex with whom you please. It's your own decision.
