I think waiting to find someone who you really "click" with is a lot more fulfilling than most relationships that originate from online dating. I would prefer my girlfriend, who I had some mutual friends with and really got to know in a few classes, over some random girl who probably lied about half of their profile.
Yeah real life interaction is best. You have to be good over text and meet a good number of people in person to see if you click. It's a lot of work.
Though your bio doesn't have to be serious. It's usually best to make it fun or playful. My Tinder bio is this and it's worked out great for me:
