If the 2020 election winds up being a showdown between these two, who do you think would come out on top?

Personally I prefer Harris, but I've a sinking feeling that Booker would win. He'll have the financial advantage, as a Wall Street hack. He shares Obama's attractiveness and charisma. I also expect that he'll outperform Harris with the Black vote- his political background in Newark's urban politics, while Harris's political background is in California. It's also worth noting that Harris is married to a white man and is only half-black(and half-(Asian)Indian) which might cement perception of her as less authentically black.

Also, remember when some people wondered whether he's "African American enough" in the sense he had no African-American background, with his father being from Kenya?

I have a feeling Harris wins this one, but it would be close.

Booker was also accused of being "not black enough" when he originally ran for Mayor of Newark (against an incumbent black Mayor).

Harris. Bookers wall street ties would be brought up a lot and by 2020 the Democratic Base would want a Non Cooperate Candidate facing Trump.

You underestimate the black woman vote eh? They carried Hillary to victory.

Booker has more charisma, but Harris isn't necessarily a slouch as of late...the difference isn't exactly Sanders/Obama vs Hillary here.

Ultimately, the result would probably be urban vs rural, with Harris' farther left stance on guns making everywhere urban but the Newark/NYC - Philly area all but locked for her...however unless she makes in-roads with Native Americans on reservations based on environmental issues, I don't see how these same stances wouldn't give Booker pretty much all the rural areas.

Booker is by far the more mainstream candidate.
