My problem with the Christina left is less with the 'left' and more with the 'Christian'. Too many of them deny essentials of the faith.
I've never understood why this is. It doesn't seem like it should automatically follow from any of the fundamental principles of left-wing thought.
I think it's the other way around. People don't have to apostatize or become heretics for their socialism, but heretics and apostates are attracted to the Christian left. It's the classic Social Gospel problem. If you reject essentials of the faith, but aren't willing to give up the Christian label, practice etc, something has to fill the void, and for a lot of people left wing activism fits the bill.

You cannot deny the divinity of Christ and be a Christian.
Hence my criticism.
