Might be one of those situations where the elites and actual people are in two very different places.

What a shock.

Sanders wins every post-debate poll, but the media (incl. CNN) spin it as a Hilldog-victory:

Cooper was surprisingly ballsy for an American political pundit/interviewer, almost Paxmanesque even. So him.

Ron Paul won online polls in 2008 and 2012 and where is he now?

Hillary Clinton won by not losing.

She's really the only one of the five who had anything to lose.

I understand if the #FEELTEHBURN people are in shock after Bernie's disastrous performance (he came perilously close to doing a Rick Perry with his "Uhhhhh Putin will... regret... this" answer) but lol

I'm really starting to worry about how these folks will react when he wins only 1 (+/- 1) state(s) and then drops out. It's even scarier because a lot of Sanders fans seem to be gun nuts. We'll likely see a handful of feel the Bern-inspired mass shootings. 😟

Me too. If this is how Sanders supporters react to him at best tying Hillary at the debate, what will they say if/when she wins Iowa in a squeaker, and South Carolina in a landslide? It's like they have some Guy Fawkes complex where they have to convince themselves that we live in a fascist dictatorship so they can bravely swoop in and save the day.

EDIT: Just to clarify, I don't think there will be Bern-inspired shootings, just a lot of very, very loud whining.

Also, I think it's interesting that Mic.com has declared Hillary the winner and even Vox can't bring itself to say she lost.

Martin O'Malley won by a mile. He was statesmanlike, progressive, articulate, and seemed to be the most substantive of them all policy wise. I was very, very disappointed that the media totally glossed over him during the spin room discussions.

Sanders did decently but was clearly in way over his head when it came to foreign policy and just repeated a lot of his stump speech sound bites on other issues. He rallied his base but nothing to expand it or make himself seem more Presidential.

Chafee came across as a nice guy but was otherwise just embarrassing. His response to the question about voting to repeal Glass-Steagall was probably the most cringe-worthy and embarrassing response I've even seen in a debate. He should really just drop out.

I can assure you: I'm none of these types. I'll outsource the punishments to KRAMPUS.

Sanders intellectually, Clinton with the way she spoke. Clinton's answers were WEAK on many issues, including Wall Street, as well as foreign policy issues where she is an apologist for Obama.

One thing's for sure: the American electorate didn't win.

The surprise of the night was the strong showing by O'Malley. But because Clinton didn't stumble, I'd have to say she won.

Hillary. She'll get my vote in the primary next year assuming Biden is not there. She was in control, she's a known quantity, etc. I do wish Biden had been there, though. It can be tough to defend a lead, depending upon one's personality, but I thought she did that pretty well.
