I watched this live, and I gotta say - I was pissed off. I don't know why such an easy plea deal was given. I'll be glad he's gone, but they could've gotten a guilty verdict without this, and they could've had him be punished more than what they're letting him off with. I'm pretty disappointed.

He was never popular with the Coleman Young-crowd and they had a big grudge against him. He just got tired of it all and didn't run for reelection in 2001.

He's planning a run for Governor now.
