Nobody is listening to the Club for Growth anymore. All the CFG cares about is the capital gains tax rate. They are open borders, free traitors and even oppose hedge fund managers paying income taxes as earned income. The CFG is stuck in the 1980s.
The Club for Growth is one of the great non-profit groups in America along with others such as Americans for Prosperity who actively advance the cause of free markets and economic opportunity. To call them "stuck in the 1980s" is factually incorrect, shortsighted, and out of touch with reality.
Those who oppose free trade don't consider what is good for the country, they only consider their own political careers. The overwhelming evidence suggests that free trade leads to lower prices, higher paying jobs, and the ability of the U.S. to compete in the global economy. The reason we are seeing stagnant growth today has nothing to do with trade, it has to do with tax and regulatory policy amongst other things.
Finally, we shouldn't be raising taxes on anyone, this is not a socialist society, though Donald Trump and others wish it where. We have enough re-distribution as it is.
The top 1% get richer and richer while the bottom 99% lose ground, and you say that we don't need any more redistribution?
Wowsers!
Raising taxes is socialist? What was cutting taxes in times of (unnecessary) war (in Iraq)?
The Club for Growth has received everything from its Bushies they have ever wanted from government, and corporate types have, in return, given the Bushies, and the GOP in general, billions of dollars in campaign cash. This did not come cheap; selling out to Corporate America brought in the dough, but it cost the GOP the landslides in Presidential elections they once racked up every 4 years.
People know how tough it is to break into and stay in the middle class these days, and they know that the Club for
Greed Growth types are the ones that are responsible for making this tougher. They hope that Donald Trump will do something to improve their position in society. They know darn well that Jeb Bush and his Royal Family of Insiders are responsible for the policies that have led to many of their difficulties.
