Everyone knows how I feel about the Patriots but even I was "rooting" for them.

It makes sense. It was similar to my situation week one. I can't stand Romo and the Cowboys but I had to "root" for them against the Jets.

At this point I couldn't care less what the Eagles do.

Classic Philly fan. There's still ten games left and you're in a division that's incredible winable with an around .500 record.

Winning the division just doesn't do it for me...YES its better than not making the playoffs and having to deal with a losing season, and I've seen plenty of those BUT another 10-6, 9-7 even 8-8 season gets a division title and early round bounce for the same reasons we've bitched about in the past isn't great either.  And I'm firmly in the camp that we need to take a step back to go two steps forward now.

The NFC isn't exactly teeming with impossible-to-beat playoff teams, though, outside of Green Bay. If the Eagles can sneak in at 10-6 or 9-7 -- which is perfectly plausible, especially in the NFC East -- a first-round exit is far from inevitable. And even with Green Bay, the Eagles had a pass in the end zone last season that would have beat them.

I'm getting more excited about the 49ers than I ever thought I could and certainly far more than I've ever wanted to.

Looks like Brandon Lloyd may get shipped off to St. Louis. He would be a good weapon for Bradford, provided the Brandon Lloyd of 2010 shows up in 2011.

Don't worry, it's the Dolphins.

That being said, the gap between Matt Moore and Mark Sanchez isn't that big . . .

Wish I could disagree.  He plays well in a 2 minute offense but yeah he is not good.  And Im so sick of Plaxico already. Guy is a washed up malcontent.

I can't decide where the blame lies on the fact that Sanchez is still playing like a rookie in his third season.

Either way, I'm not complaining.

Sanchez has never been good.  perception has been skewed by the playoff wins (and flashy highlights within them), but he's never stepped up from the lowest tier of starting-quality QBs, if even that.

How did we miss the fact that the Raiders are making Al Davis like trades after his death?

A first and conditional second to first for Carson Palmer? He's only slightly better than Sanchez!

Chargers pulled off a classic choke job.

Well, it's Norv, what do you expect?

Quick hitters of this week (missed last one):

1) This week was really a character win for Atlanta, you have to hand it to them.  They have to continue to keep pace in that division.  Meanwhile, it is understandable that Detroit is going to come back to earth a little.  Some of those earlier wins this season, they simply were given to them.
2) So, Miami's in good running for the Andrew Luck derby.  As for Tebow, he looked awful out there, miraculous end notwithstanding.  Don't kid yourself.
3) So, after blowing it at Baltimore and Oakland the two weeks before, and everyone in Houston saying, "here we go again", today was simply an utter domination of the Titans at all levels.  Nothing else can be said.  It is still rather obvious that Houston is the best team in the AFC South, whether they will have the best record is another issue of course.  The rest of the season, after all, is not murderer's row.  The loss of strong safety Manning will hurt.  Meanwhile, Chris Johnson?  Enough said.
4) How long before Mike Martz gets restless, and tries to change the Bears from that winning rushing focus in their offense.  You know it's killing him.  Meanwhile, Josh Freeman has to start, one day, to learn to play in other quarters than the 4th.
5) Norv, Norv, Norv.  Saving another team's season is really your greatest talent, eh?
6) He's still taking too many sacks, but play like Cam Newton's today is the real deal.
7) Look here - Pittsburgh is 5-2 and in the middle of things again.  The cream puff part of the schedule is done now - let's see what happens in the next couple of weeks.
Cool So, Carson Palmer looks a little rusty, eh?  Btw, if McFadden is lost for any length of time, they'll be in serious trouble.  And look here too, Kansas City is now only a game out of first.  And next week is San Diego, then home against Miami and Denver.  Not dead yet, eh?  Of course, they face a real murderer's row after that, so they'd better win all three.
9) DeMarco Murray - wow.  Of course, it is the Rams, but if Dallas has a real rushing attack, then Tony Romo can be reduced to doing something he can't screw up - handing off the ball.
10) Green Bay is still the best team in the league.  But they're always going to be vulnerable against teams that can get to the QB.

I was somewhat impressed by Ponder out there. He had some terrible throws but he reminded me of Rodgers in style of play. I'd certainly take him over a good amount of starting QBs around the league.

BREAKING NEWS:  TONY ROMO DID NOT CHOKE AWAY A HUGE LEAD!!!!! Granted it was the Rams, but Dallas has a habit of playing to the level of their opponents and we all know what Tony Romo is capable of.  It was just one game and I didn't get to watch the game except pleasantly finding out the 34-7 finale, but if DeMarco Murray can run like that each week, he will (1) alleviate the pressure off Tony Romo and Miles Austin/Jason Witten and (2) Quickly surplant Felix Jones as the primary starter.

it's wonderful to see ESPN and NBC get stuck with all of these horrific Colts games in primetime.

Hopefully, you come out of Week 8 with a record of 2-5, giving Dallas a record of 4-3!!  I feel confident that my 'Boys will take care of the Canaries Sunday Night.
