50 day poll. You have to vote to see results, so you won't be influenced by the results.

If you don't know the answer, guess.

This has to be a direct line: baby, either parent, grandparent, great grandparent etc all alive at the same time.

got to be at least 7

I'm in the middle of an active 4 with all 4 great grand parents on my side of it still alive (not sure of the others), with the oldest great grandbaby about to enter kindergarten, so I could be in a 5 in the next 15-20 years.

My guess is 8.

Probably 7?

A streak of 12-13 year old pregnancies would put the oldest of them in their early late 80s/early 90s.

I'll go with 10. Consider a scenario where each generation had their first child at age 12, which is roughly the age a female can start giving birth. In order for an eleventh generation to realistically be alive at the same time as the oldest ancestor, the oldest ancestor must live to age 120 or the youngest descendent must give birth at a disgustingly young age. More disgusting than 12, in fact.

108 - Great, Great, Great, Great, Great, Great, Great Grandmother
96 - Great, Great, Great, Great, Great, Great Grandmother
84 - Great, Great, Great, Great, Great Grandmother
72 - Great, Great, Great, Great Grandmother
60 - Great, Great, Great Grandmother
  48 - Great, Great Grandmother
  36 - Great Grandmother
  24 - Grandmother
  12 - Mother
    0 - Baby

I'm glad that I have gotten a small number of responses, but I'd like to see if I can get a few more before I answer the poll question. I find it very interesting.

Also if the Christian Bible is literally and historically true the number could be be a lot higher than 10.

I don't know what the Biblical number is but it may be higher than the modern number.

Methuselah lived to be 969, and the longevity record according to the Bible.

According to modern records no one has lived to 123, but it may be possible to live longer than 124.

Safe to say 10 is not possible

Like, usually teenage pregnancies happen more often in third world countries or families that are poorer. Life standards would be lower.

You don't just require the 108 year old to be still alive, but also all the ones below her (for them to be alive at the same time).

Given 108 is already exceptionally unique and puts you into contention for oldest person in my country to be alive, safe to say this hasn't happened.

8 or 9 i guess are possible

Likely 7

I personally don't know a lot of people who even have 4. Like my grandmother died earlier this year, none of her grandchildren had babies already.

12 is also assuming each person had a teenage pregnancy, i think 16 or 18 are safer to test out

I think 6 is already very rare, and again, they all have to be still alive at the same time, just not the oldest person.

7 probably has happened i think, but i don't believe 8 has.

8 votes so far, I would like to see more before I reveal the correct answer.

Stay tuned I am going out for a little while, but depending on whether this thread has more responses I may reveal the answer as early as tomorrow.

6 has happened in my own extended family, and it missed being 7 by less than a year.  That involved a person who died at an exceptional age (she was 108) which is certainly rare.  But there weren't a lot of extremely young pregnancies involved, so I can see 8 being possible and voted for that.
