With Kim Jong-il, Than Shwe and Omar al-Bashir gone, Afewerki is probably the worst dictator of the remaining leaders even if nowhere near as well known. Gaddafi is pretty awful too of course, but better to get the ball rolling on Afewerki.

But everything as bad - quite probably worse.

Though he does get extenuating circumstances given the past history of Eritrea and his own personal history, I suppose.

Than Shwe

I don't know why there was a jihad against the Saudi guy above for awhile. Given the lay of the land over there, he is a fairly decent guy it seems to me. He does not rule folks who share my values on many key points.

Have you looked into their wonderful laws regarding..well everything? They are more f'ed up than the Iranians, something you wouldn't be able to discern based on US foreign policy.

I vote Isaias Afewerki for this round.

Good man. They're keeping Swedish citizen Dawit Isaac in jail for being critical of the government.

Since I don't care whether Afewerki goes next or Gadaffi, I'll lay a marker down for who to vote out after these two are gone:

Idriss Deby would also be a good idea.
