Three or four games left in the season. Playoffs start on Friday. Let's go.

I think the Red Sox will hang on for the AL Wild Card and the Cardinals will take the NL spot.

I felt grateful this afternoon when I read over the postseason series schedules and found out there are no days off besides travel days: God's will has been restored.

Games two and three of the World Series will be during my aunt's wedding rehearsal (which wouldn't matter if I wasn't in the wedding) and wedding reception, respectively. Here's hopping the former starts and finishes well before game time. We'll definitely be able to watch during the latter.

Cards and Astros in the 10th. This should be fun.

or we could just eliminate the Phillies in the DS or the CS and absolve ourselves of the entire issue.

Yeah but I'd still want to watch.  Tongue

Houston and Baltimore beating their respective opponents really shouldn't be a surprise. Like any other sport, teams that can be spoilers are totally energized.

Although I'm a Red Sox fan, I hope the Yankees beat the Rays in their final regular season series.

The Bombers have won the division anyway, so the least they can do is keep the Rays out of the picture.

Maybe you missed the part where the Yankees hate your team and wouldn't be inclined to them any favors. Please see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yankees_–_Red_Sox_rivalry

Uh, I already know that. Why do you think I began with "although"?

Besides, the Yankees are making the postseason anyway; the Red Sox don't gain anything from the Yankees losing. However, so that we get the wild-card and the Rays don't, I'm supporting the Yankees as part of a strategic move. Basically, I simply hope the Rays lose--even if the Yankees improve their record.

My comment was regarding the second part of your post. That's why the Yankees won't go all out to deny the Rays.  Tongue

We blew away Atlanta and now the Cards came back from being down 5-0.

Wow. Just...wow. Thrilled to see the Phillies/Charlie get the franchise record and keep the Braves out but I wanted to see Boston make it for an exciting ALCS and possibly playing them in the World Series. Oh well. At least it ended in excitement.

Calling it now: Yankees vs. Rays in the ALCS and Phillies vs. Brewers in the NLCS.

It's nice to be pissed that we "only" won 11-6. My real concern is that I think we'll struggle to score (like usual) tomorrow.

It's a day of blown leads in Philly! Damn it. I had a feeling we weren't going to get this one though.

I guess this means Rick Santorum is going to be the next flavor of the month.

I guess you decided to ignore my comment on this in the other thread. It doesn't affect a candidates I support in an election held a year away even if the campaign is happening now.

The Flavor of the Month is not a year away.

Not sure what's hard to understand about this: it doesn't affect candidates that I support in an election held a year away even if the campaign is happening now. "Flavor of the month" is happening now but it would affect an election that begins next year. It doesn't count now.

Thank God for Ben! I thought we were going to hit extra innings before we saw scoring. Great double by Rollins, too.

Well, at least we can be thankful for three things (one of which is pretty meaningless but I'll include it anyway): we're playing at home, Doc is going to be on the mound and the back and forth pattern of the series is in our favor in Game 5.

Well, we can't say that there hasn't been excitement. Three of the four series going to a Game 5 is cool (not counting the nerves).
