Phils offense making it excruciatingly easy for redbirds staff to outpitch the four "aces."

Thank God for Ben! I thought we were going to hit extra innings before we saw scoring. Great double by Rollins, too.

Hopefully we'll be the first team to win scoring first in this series.

I would prefer it go to a Game 5 with the Cardinals pulling it out, but I have my doubts.  We only got in the playoffs really because Atlanta crashed and burned.

If the Yanks would have spread some of those runs out over their last few games they'd be up.  Doesn't help of course that A-Rod has no consistency.

It amuses me that fans still care about MLB given how MLB has repeatedly shown it doesn't care about fans.

Can the Phils please exercise some patience at the plate and hit for the love of God.  Ugh

Phils offense simply can't generate runs like the cards can.

Cards have been the better team this series.  Save the first game.

We're lucky we still have a chance to move on.  Playing very tight yet reckless at times.

Well, at least we can be thankful for three things (one of which is pretty meaningless but I'll include it anyway): we're playing at home, Doc is going to be on the mound and the back and forth pattern of the series is in our favor in Game 5.

I'm beginning to have faith in my Cardinals in Game 5.  Roy Halladay has been beatable this year, and I think the Cardinals are still hot from their season close, so I am going to have to amend my previous prediction and say that the Cardinals will move on to the NLCS.

Carpenter on full rest is not going to be an easy task for the Phils struggling offense.  (Man I'm having flashbacks to last year's NLCS).  Unless Roy is perfect, even Roy being excellent can get beat if these bats stay cold.

We were all holding our breath for your updated prediction, Raymond.

Well, we can't say that there hasn't been excitement. Three of the four series going to a Game 5 is cool (not counting the nerves).

yawn

Maybe you can't say it, but I can.

I hope the Tigers beat the Yankess tonight solely because that will depress the ratings for the ALCS.  Hopefully if FOX takes a bath on baseball the next few years, they'll decline to go after it when their current contract expires.  If baseball is to have any hope of halting its decline it needs to get off of broadcast TV which will never give it the timeslots it needs.  Basketball, hockey, and even soccer can all comfortably fit into the broadcast network three hour primetime window. Baseball can't, nor can football, but football doesn't need to fit.

I want the Tigers to win as far too many people this past month have been blindly saying "Yankees-Rays/Red Sox will be the ALCS" and NOTA would make me happy. So far so good.

I actually like the Phillies and Brewers, so them choking their series would make me Sad.

It would be funny if we had a Arizona/St Louis NLCS.  It is quite possible.  I think St Louis has a better shot than Arizona, but it is entirely realistic to have a Diamondbacks vs. Cardinals NLCS.

Boston was more guilty of that than the Yankees this year, but it's still true of them.

And, look where they both are as of Midnight Eastern on Friday, October 7, 2011.  They both are preparing for the offseason.
