Where does this place me?

What would my political label be:

I am in favor of a strong social safety net run by the Federal Government, I am in favor of the EPA having more teeth, stronger unions, a widened middle class, taxes on the top 1% being greatly increased, a dramatic decrease in all foreign aid, I approve of Obamacare and support a further expansion of Medicaid, universal education (including universal Pre-K and programs along the lines of Head Start), universal housing if possible, a revived and permanent CCC, massive works projects and infrastructure programs, campaign finance reform and a repeal of Citizens United, along with a decrease in the defense budget. I propose a phasing out of funding to Israel, unless they agree to a two state setup.

I however favor the NSA and enhanced interrogation techniques, and believe the various intelligence agencies need less oversight but better management.

I do not personally believe in abortion and feel it should be an individual matter; it should not be illegal, I agree publicly with Roe v. Wade. I have no feelings on gay marriage, I am not opposed to it, but feel it should be a state decision. Legalization of Marijuana should also be left up to the states to decide. I am anti-tobacco. I am a white male and unashamed of it, and feel the media has a bias against white males that needs addressing.

I am against political correctness and Social Justice Warriors and the modern feminist movement; I am firmly opposed to all forms of Affirmative Action, I am a Deist and have no regard one way or the other for organized religion but feel it should be kept separate from government. I dislike New Atheists (ala Richard Dawkins) and Evangelical Christians equally.

I support Capitalism, I just feel the best form of Capitalism is regulated Capitalism. I think Communism is the stupidest idea in history. Elements of Socialism can work here and there, but in a country as large and as diverse as the US is, Socialism itself can never work. In smaller or more homogeneous societies it could possibly work without leading to the tyranny that has typically accompanied it.

I despise Communism, but I also feel the Cold War was an incredibly foolish, tragic historical blunder. Why should we have been afraid of Communism? We only emboldened the Communists by reacting so strongly to their ideas. The Forbidden Fruit idea and all. Vietnam, if I was President and with hindsight, I would've done whatever the experts told me to do to win, and, seeing it wasn't working, pulled out gracefully around 1966/1967, saying "We tried to help them; it obviously isn't working. Freedom must be fought for and earned - The Vietnamese have to fight their war alone."

I don't support Iraq or Afghanistan or war unless it absolutely MUST be and there's no way to avoid it. I prefer 'smart war' - drones, bombings, tactical nukes. No ground troops anymore.

I think the internment of the Japanese was terrible, but not enough to damn FDR's legacy.

I don't believe in term limits ala the 22nd Amendment.

I have mixed feelings on the 1965 Immigration Act. While I do enjoy diversity, I feel some level of quotas should have remained in place, just not racially based. I have seen my neighborhood and the area I grew up, in a cultural sense, disappear because of the effects of that act.

I believe in strong border control, but at the same time, I feel we need to make it easier for people to legally get here. We should have a quota system in which only professionals/people with something to truly offer the country are allowed, but that it's a fast track.

I believe in the death penalty. I think life imprisonment should only be given as a sentence in cases where there is reasonable doubt as to the absolute guilt of the convicted.

Guns...I support moderate gun control, I don't believe the mentally ill or criminals should own guns or that anyone needs to own an AK-47...But I wouldn't ban guns.

I hate Common Core.

I believe we need to do something to revitalize America's spirit. Some new bold idea that actually livens the populace up the way Kennedy's New Frontier did.

I don't really give a sh**t about fiscal policy. If I were President, it'd not be a concern to me, I'd just follow the experts. Domestic policies IE reform would be my target area.

I believe we need to stop this new Cold War with the Russians. Compromise in some way.

I don't believe in pride parades, unless every group can have one.

I don't believe "In God We Trust" should be printed on our money. It never was until the Cold War.

Clarence Thomas should never have been near the Supreme Court. Not because of racial reasons, but because he's a slimeball. Thurgood Marshall was a great man who I would have loved to have seen President.

My favorite politicians of the 20th Century are FDR, LBJ, Thurgood Marshall, Mario Cuomo, Jerry Brown, Hubert Humphrey and Richard Nixon. I also like Jerry Ford. As much as I like Bill Clinton, I feel long run wise, the country would've been better off with George H.W. Bush winning in 1992 as the country's drift to the right might've been slower.

Rather be a "statist" than a Libertarian. It's not 1885 anymore guys. Stop trying to put us back there.
