For sake of discussion...

What are y'alls thoughts on a party secretary? This person would be in charge of maintaining an official party roster, making sure conventions are opened on time, and managing the Wiki page, along with other potential stuff.

FTR, I believe we're now the largest party in Atlasia!

Well, we need to work on the bylaws, as well as hold leadership elections, especially.

True, although I doubt anyone plans on challenging Yankee. Wink
There are other positions as well, and new positions could possibly be created.

He is right, time is getting short. This has languished for too long. I guess we agreed that for the sake of time at the convention that leadership elections should occur afterwards.

I think Approval voting seemed to be a consensus as to the method there.
Perhaps a regular voting method with nominating would be best, so anyone who would be interested in party leadership would have a fair chance of doing so.

I know I'm new here of course Tongue, but when it comes to dealing with party business, I've always favored straight-up votes on these things. I've never been a fan of approval voting, personally.
Well said. While someone may approve of a job someone is doing, that doesn't necessarily mean they think they're the best possible person out there for it. And I think it's important to this party's success that we have the best of the best in leadership.

I think regional chair's should be appointed, but that's just me. 2 regional chairs sat vacant for over a year, the Pacific and Northeast. The Midwest chair happens to be our only member there. There's never really been much competition for it, and it usually requires recruiting someone to do it.

I'm not quite following you. The appointment would be permanent, not up every four months. If a new chairmen were to come in and remove someone from a regional chair, that'd be their decision.

I would like to see the removal of newbies waiting to vote on party affairs. Maybe 24 hours, but not a week.
