I was doing some thinking about who could will be the main third party candidate next year. Johnson is most well known/main guy right now, but there are plenty folks could run.

Trump said he will make up is mind by the end of the Apprentice's season in May, he claims he has millions of supporters so he could make an impact. Bloomberg has a draft movement going around as well Paul does.  There is also some unusual Independents running/could run like Jesse Ventura, Roseanne Barr, and Jimmy "The rent is too high" McMillan.

Who do you think will run this year?

Johnson is the only one I think will actually run, so him by default.

I think Trump might if he does not like the Republican nominee, Paul I doubt but he never seems to surprise me anymore. Roseanne claims she is running, but IDK if she's serious.

Don't think we know yet. Neither Perot nor Anderson emerged until the spring.

I hope your right. Having Gary Johnson as the third choice is not a good option in my book.

Nobody outside of Atlas Forum knows who Roemer and Johnson are, and just because they've held office before doesn't mean the media will take them seriously.

Johnson has gotten decent totals in 3-way polling already.

Gary Johnson -I don't see Ron Paul going third party when he can have a more significant impact turning the Republican Party in a more libertarian direction by amassing delegates for the convention as he goes from state to state in the primaries and caucuses.  When he reaches critical mass in the delegate count by June, he can have a significant role in writing the platform and having a major speaking role as well.  And I am confident that he knows this. He is not in this to win the nomination but on behalf of the libertarian movement.  He is playing the long game.

Johnson suspended his LP nomination bid.

I expect a typical race with no real major opposition to the Republicrats.  But I think Jill Stein, who's seeking the Green nomination, has what it takes to be somewhat more well-known than the other "third party" candidates.

Paul (imo) will either run as an Independent, Constitutionalist or Libertarian - so probably him.

Huh?

It was announced on MSNBC.  He suspended his campaign and endorsed Paul.

Though...they might have been talking about his GOP bid, as they probably wouldn't have bothered to mention otherwise.  I don't know.

Nah, that was just lazy reporting.  He told his supporters to vote for Paul in the primary, but he's still running for the Libertarian nomination.

You are incorrect -Rachel Maddow (who originally broke the story) admitted it was a hoax.  So Gary Johnson is still in.
