Well, when you have to constantly deal with the heat, it's not very fun.  I also spent part of my early childhood in the United Kingdom, which might explain some of it.

San Diego doesn't get very hot though.  Is 75 degrees fahrenheit hot?

Is that really as hot as it gets?

My relatives in Northern California (Sacramento, SF, and places in between) don't seem to be huge fans of either San Diego or LA.
