I'm on the fence about the bill and can vote either way. It's more a question of me getting comfortable with privatization than doing anything to amend the bill as drafted.
I agree. Several interesting points have been raised from both sides here. However, I question the complexity of this process, and any wholesale privatization. As for the competition argument, there really wouldn't be any. Regional entities would have enormous control over the marketplace. That being said, I'm not opposed to selling publicly owned assets that are so cost ineffective that they shouldn't be public, on a more specific basis.
