Christopher Wray has made it out of committee with a unanimous vote of approval.   So other than Booker, Warren and Gillibrand, he should sail his way into the position.

6 no votes for FBI Director since the Senate started approving them.  5 of the 6 yesterday.  Disgusting.

I hope they can be all sworn it at once or it's going to be a long day for Pence.  Smiley

Kelly confirmed 94-2. Warren and Gillibrand voted No.

They wouldn't vote for Jesus if Trump nominated him.

I like how Schumer always votes "no" when he knows the whip count has the pubs with enough votes to pass.

That's how floor leaders vote. Their voting scores usually excluded from voting scorecards because they do cast a lot of procedural and party-first partisan votes.

Oh I know but it makes me smile because unlike Warren/Gillibrand/Booker etc., he really couldn't care less most of the time.

I'm still chuckling at the concept of Callista Gingrich as Ambassador to the Vatican. Can they reject the nominee?

If Senate Republicans could feel any shame, they would reject her, but that's not really how things have been going for some time now. They are mostly acting as a rubber-stamp for anyone he wants.

I was referring to the Vatican, not the Senate.

Yes, but they wouldn't.

That's far more bipartisan than I could have imagined.

They're probably looking forward to getting Newt out of the country.

He's going too?

She's a General Kelly loyalist and competent.  She'll be confirmed easily.

That's far more bipartisan than I could have imagined.

Ambassador ships are far more traditionally political patronage jobs by both parties. They're not going to get too worked up over it when it's the long term diplomats calling the shots.

I thought there would be just a bit more anti-Newt votes just for sh**ts and giggles.  Her nomination was never really in jeopardy.

Campbell confirmed 97-0:

Not Voting - 3
Cruz (R-TX)
Isakson (R-GA)
McCain (R-AZ)

Parker passes CLOTURE 96-1:

NAYs ---1
Hirono (D-HI)

Not Voting - 3
Cruz (R-TX)
Isakson (R-GA)
McCain (R-AZ)

Wait, did Pocohontas, Gillibrand and Booker vote yes for both of these guys?  They normally wouldn't vote to confirm Jesus Christ to a post.
