Liberals have carried Acadie, where Yvon Godin retired, and Sackville, where they have defeated Peter Stoffer. Megan Leslie and Jack Harris both trail, but no calls in those seats. Cons still competitive (albeit trailing) in 5 New Brunswick seats. Jack Harris, Richard Bragdon, and Rob Moore are all within 5%, but the other ridings are probably soon to be called.

The 33rd seat just put on the board would be Gaspésie-Les Îles-de-la-Madeleine, the first Quebec seat to report results.  The Iles-de-la-Madeleine, in that riding at least, are in the Atlantic Time Zone.  Polls close there an hour earlier than the rest of Quebec.

Megan Leslie has been declared to have been defeated.

Goodbye to that particular leadership campaign.

Gaspesie,is the one Quebec seat in the Atlantic time zone. The early results there have the Liberals in first. This one was a close NDP-Bloc fight in 2011. If this keeps up the Liberals could dominate in Quebec and get a majority government.

Yep.  Very early numbers, but the Liberal is ahead of the NDP incumbent.

It seems fair to say that Quebec will decide whether or not the Liberals get a majority.

Four possible non-Liberal seats left in Atlantic Canada: Fundy Royal, New Brunswick Southwest, St. John's East, and Tobique. Liberals lead all 4.

One thing I'm finding interesting (and what does it foretell for Quebec) is that Bernard Valcourt is a poor *third* in Madawaska-Restigouche: 15% with 72 out of 173 polls called (NDP's 26%)

The Tory vote is lower in the Atlantics than it was in 1993 when they only won two seats nationwide.

I feel bad for the NDP, I really do. They really seemed like they had the chance to take down Harper and become the governing party, for the first ever.
