Re-elect Clyde campaign speech - 4 April 2015
Welcome friends and media representatives. As you may be aware, the North East Assembly elections are approaching; I can confirm that I am standing for re-election to the assembly and I'm seeking your vote to ensure that there is a Labour representative in the North East.

Upon my initial election, I promised to work constructively and co-operatively to benefit the citizens of the North East region - regardless of party affiliation - and I believe that everyone who has been a representative in the assembly this term has done so. I pledge to continue to do so, if re-elected.

In the next term, I will attempt to push through the tax changes that I promised previously in a new budget for the region - an increase in tax for those in the highest two tax brackets and a decrease for those in the lowest two brackets.

Additionally, I will propose free dental care for everyone in the North East region, with a $250m budget, as well as an increase in funding for mental health services to around $4bn.

Finally, I have proposed a bill to give a tax rebate to those who produce energy via wind and solar farms - to help the green energy production in the North East region. Hopefully this can be passed before the election.

Manifesto

• I will seek support to pass every bill I've proposed in the previous assembly term - that haven't been voted on, so far. These are the "Green Energy Rebate Act", the "North East Exams Act", the "Minimum Wage Act" and the "Mandatory Arts Lessons Act".
• I will attempt to increase funding for substance abuse and mental health services to $5bn (an increase of $2bn).
• I will push for more preventive care, by supporting anti-smoking and healthy eating programs and proposing free vaccinations for major illnesses in the region to reduce the costs of treatment later down the line.
• I will always vote maintain free university tuition fees and education (where possible).
• I will never vote to impose health care fees any citizen.
• I will propose that an increased percentage of surpluses are placed into the Disaster Relief Fund; this is currently 20%.
• I will attempt to act co-operatively with all elected representatives in the assembly.
