New Election: 1994 Idaho Initiative General Election Results

It's disturbing how close this came to passing- it may be the most extreme measure I've seen.

So Madison County isn't that uniformly nuts.

This is a horrific measure and thank God it failed even in Idaho and in 1994.  Hopefully today it would be defeated by double-digits.

I remember reading about how this referendumb did really poorly in the Mormon counties in eastern Idaho because the group that funded it was not only anti-gay but also very anti-Mormon. (It was an evangelical type of organization, not really Mormon.)

"limiting adults access to library materials which address homosexuality". Wow.

This weekend I think I'm going to make county map predictions for Minnesota for various referendums, including this one.

That map does indeed look as if there was a Mormon element to the no vote.

Madison County is the perfect barometer for that...it failed in Rexburg proper, and the surrounding rural areas.  It did poorly among all sorts of Mormons.

That's cute.

Potentially help fascism pass just to annoy people who disagree with you on other issues.

You're libertarian-leaning, right?  Right.

Yup, definitely "radically libertarian".
