But, at least, does anyone agree with any of the points I have raised, let's say, that if there was less alcoholic consumption, that there would be

Fewer incidents of domestic violence?

Perhaps, though alcohol is not the primary cause of such things - domestic violence is caused by our socially institutionalized poverty, sexism, and abuse of children.  In other words, when the poor man beats his wife, it is partially the fault of the rich man.

Maybe.  Better ban coffee too.

Who knows.. if the alcohol consumption is done at home, or in a civilized city that has public transportation, then it would have no effect on this.

Who cares about the employer?  They caused the whole problem in the first place.

Doesn't matter, as in laissez-faire america medical problems are simply left untreated.

Oh please, what do you think the point of college is?!

What you have to keep in mind Winfield, is that the use of alcohol, or any drug, is merely a way for people who have real problems that are insoluble to kill the pain.  Addiction is caused by poverty and other misfortunes, not by the object of the addiction.  Rich, happy persons may drink moderately, smoke marijuana moderately, heck, even use cocaine and heroine, and never suffer any ill effects.  Conversely, a poor will have a bad life, even if he abstains.

I would say yes, and the Constitution would back that up.

Uh... what part of the Constitution?

Yes, unless you're in my front yard and leaving your bottles and cans there, then no.

I lived in New Orleans for five years and it was great being able to drink anywhere. I would defiantely advocate this policy. That being said, people still must be held legally responsible for anything they do while drunk.

Yes it should be legal. As long as nobody gets hurt does it really matter what you do?

Good for you. Personally I think that christian morals are both an inhuman stifling set of morals and slave morality.

Oh please, the morals and standards for living as a Christian aren't "slave" like at all. Christians are allowed to drink but forbidden from imbiding to the point of drunkeness. Which is a perfectly reasonable set of rules.

Bonostein- LOL! Hilarious. Just because I dislike christianity doesn't make me a randite. Funny as hell pic though.

This kind of reminds me of Clinton's "I didn't inhale." Have your cake and eat it too.
