There is this narrative or meme that many of Trump supporters were Democrats at one point or came from Democrats at one point or another until something happened in their mind to make them feel that Democrats or a group in the Democratic column stabbed them in the back and crippled their identity and their country. There's no one event, just the idea. It also concludes a large swath of white people, not just working class whites.
