Option 1.  IndyTX has a very good point, though there are also a lot of historically savvy people who are also guilty of Option 1.  The socialist card is an old trick, dating back to the American Liberty League.

Option 2 is strange and the only thing I have heard like it is some random Harry Truman quote.
