Man responsible for the deaths that film Mississippi Burning is based on found guilty of manslaughter

Why exactly is this manslaughter and not murder?

The question is: why would they drive the chevy to the levee if they knew the levee was dry?

very interesting.  I didn't know that.  There are at least five or six interpretations of the song out there.  I remember mine was not widely accepted by the forum at the time, I wonder how the reader's will take to that interpretation.  Seems as good as any to me.

As for Mississippi Burning.  That was a great movie.  And it had a great poster ad at the theaters.  When they took it down I got the manager to give it to me, and I cut out the part with willem defoe and gene hackman with that desperate madman's look in their eyes with the huge burning cross in the background, and used it as a backdrop to my 20-gallon fish aquarium.  It was fun to get a little bit stoned and watch the gourami swim around in front of weird Dafoe and ugly Hackman with that burning cross behind the water.
