Looks like he also had some shady real estate dealings in Florida.

Is there any real chance that Cuddy can beat this embarrassment?

The latest Ivan Moore poll still has Stevens up 63-20 in the primary, so no.

When was that taken?

I was all for having this seat be a Democratic pickup, but I’m rather impressed by Cubby. That being said, I still think Stevens probably has the edge, which means I shall be forced to root for Begich in this seat. Hopefully we can take Young down in a primary, at least.

How can anyone vote for such a corrupt criminal. I would think it would go to Cuddy in a landslide. Why is it that people get so attached to elected officals of there party that they would stand by them even though he or he has betrayed there trust?

Stevens should've bowed out gracefully when he had the chance.

Stevens should've bowed out gracefully when he had the chance.

His election is justification for him to insert any delays he wants to into the process, to switch the trial over to favorable waters in Alaska, and possibly get cleared in time to win in November (unlikely).

It is odd that Cubby cannot compete with an indicted opponent.

I'm all for an end to the days of Murkowski, Stevens, and Young, but Stevens having the most seniority of any Republican in the Senate is sorta significant.

It's not like Byrd would make a good first-time candidate, either.

I hadn't thought about it earlier, but who's next after Stevens for seniority? Orrin Hatch?

Domenici is retiring, so it would be Lugar, then Hatch.

Lugar, eh? I'm surprised though. I didn't think that Domenici had been in the Senate longer than Lugar or Hatch.
